Jackson County Tournament North Jackson 11, NSM 1 — At Woodville, Kelly Beavers hit two home runs and Carly McCarson had an inside-the-park three-run homer as North Jackson defeated North Sand Mountain in the elimination bracket final of the Jackson County Tournament Saturday night.
Woodville goes 2-2 — The Panthers went 2-2 in the Jackson County Tournament over the weekend. Woodville opened the tournament with a 16-0 win over Paint Rock Valley. Emily Huston went 2-for-3 with a home run while Amber Guthrie finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Alee Snodgrass was 2-for-3 with two RBIs, while Chelsea Cline was 2-for-3 with an RBI and Rebecca Tidwell 3-for-3. Gabby Phillips struck out seven in the circle and also had three hits at the plate.
The Panthers lost to NSM 8-2 in the winners bracket semifinals. Phillips struck out seven and finished 2-for-3. Amber Guthrie went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Woodville then defeated Skyline 6-4. Ashley Skelton went 3-for-3 with an RBI,while Huston was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Guthrie closed 1-for-3 with two RBIs, and Haley Coulter went 2-for-2.
The Panthers were eliminated by North Jackson in the elimination bracket semifinals, falling 6-0.
