The Woodville Girls Varsity team played again last night against their rival, Skyline. It was a tough game. Both teams fighting hard to keep the other from scoring. Skyline was able to pull off the win. In my opinion the win was due to two things: They had an excellent 3 point shooter...she shot several in a row. WOW! Also, in the end both teams were fouling each other in an effort to keep the other team from scoring. The other team got a lot of free throws....and they DO add up.
The articles always mention those who score.... Emily had a great game...all of her points were scored in the last half of the game. But if you really want to be entertained the defensive action is where it's at...and Emily is a great defensive player. I had fun watching our team intercept passes, and break up plays. It was an awesome, sit-on-the-edge of your seat game. The girls played hard and they didn't go down without a fight. Here's the article from the Daily Sentinel.

Published January 20, 2009SKYLINE — Pisgah and Skyline advanced to the 2009 girls basketball Jackson County Tournament semifinals after earning quarterfinal wins Tuesday night at Skyline High School.Third-seeded Pisgah moved into a matchup Friday at 6:30 p.m with No. 2 North Sand Mountain thanks to an 80-41 win over No. 6 North Jackson.
Meanwhile, fifth-seeded Skyline beat archrival and No. 4 Woodville 53-46 to advance to play top-seeded Section in the semifinals Friday at 8 p.m. Skyline led 19-15 at halftime but surged ahead 37-29 after three quarters in a scoring run aided by Haley Parker's three 3-pointers. Parker finished with 20 points and six rebounds for the Vikings, who also got 12 points and four steals from Kaitlin Alley and nine points and seven rebounds each from Maggie Warren and Lily Sutton.
Travannah Roden scored 18 points for Woodville, which also got 12 from Emily Huston.
