Collinsville 70, Woodville 69 (2OT) — At Collinsville, Woodville missed three potential game-winning shots in the closing seconds in suffering the double-overtime loss.
Woodville (2-1) trailed 22-11 after one quarter, but rallied to within 33-29 at halftime and 43-39 after three quarters before sending the game to overtime tied at 58. The score was knotted 63-all at the end of the first overtime period.
"A couple of different times it looked like we were out of it and the girls battled back to keep us in it," said Woodville coach Joey Swinford. "Our girls played really hard. Other than our free throws — we missed 20 — they played extremely well. The girls were disappointed but I think [this type of game] will help us."
Emily Huston scored 18 points for Woodville, which also got 12 from Tristen Loudermilk. Kristen Ford scored 23 points while Marissa Solomon and Christy Cox had 16 apiece for Collinsville (1-0).
